In 1944, after they took all our valuables, we were herded into a
ghetto. Our homes were confiscated as soon as we moved out. Misleading information was circulated telling us that we were going to work on farms. This was only to keep us from rebelling. It allowed the Germans to carry out their gruesome task without interruption. They knew we were ready to sacrifice much in order not to jeopardize the safety of our families. In the ghetto my family slept in one room with two other families.
