Federally incorporated in January, 2001, The Canadian Broadcast Museum Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization. With initial support from Bell Globemedia/CTV Inc., ACTRA Fraternal Benefits Society and the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Foundation is rapidly expanding both private and public partnerships with various sectors of the broadcasting industry and other stakeholders. The CBMF is committed to using this opportunity To found a Museum of Canadian Broadcasting to preserve and communicate the history of broadcasting in Canada by creating real and virtual public spaces that tell the story of the programming, the people, the technical, creative and other developments of radio and television in this country. The goal of the CBMF is to enhance public access to Canada’s broadcast heritage. We are dedicated to assembling a national collection of significant artifacts relating to programming and technology, developing a conservation infrastructure and innovative partnerships with existing institutions. We are committed to creating both real and virtual discovery opportunities, telling the fascinating stories of our rich broadcasting history and its relationship to contemporary media and society.
