Painting Presented to Surviving Aircrew

As the sun rises in the distance, one last Halifax bomber of No. 427 (Lion) Squadron returns home from a mission over Europe. Painted in 1990, this original oil painting by John Rayson was commissioned as a token of gratitude and presented to the surviving aircrew of Bomber Command’s No. 6 (RCAF) Group during their reunion in Elvington, Yorkshire, England.
