Collections from Storage: A Visit to our Hidden Treasures

The Brome County Historical Society (BCHS)

The Brome County Historical Society was founded in 1898. The idea of setting up a historical society took root during festivities to celebrate the centenary of the first land grants in the township.

Today visitors have access to exhibits of objects from the 19th century, now housed in several heritage buildings.

A number of years ago, the BCHS gave its natural sciences collections to the Musée de la nature et des sciences de Sherbrooke.

Here are two photographs from the Brome County Historical Society collection. The photograph on the left shows an old cabinet filled with birds, while the one on the right shows a Bald Eagle perched on a stump.
