Activity (5) - Promoting Folk Songs

“…tell the story and play one…”

In the 1950s and 1960s, Louise Manny and Helen Creighton tried to interest people in folk music, primarily by playing their recordings over local radio stations and having the lyrics published in magazines and books. In the twenty-first century, musical promotion has expanded.

You have been hired to promote the “old time” folk music, the same music that Manny and Creighton appreciated so much, but unlike them, you have all the tools of this age to do your job. Prepare a Business Plan where you explain the ways you would promote the “folk music of New Brunswick” to the audiences of today.
